Stuart Turner, Capcom UK’s head of marketing, has made some rather surprising comments about Sony’s PSN Avatar policy.
Talking on the Capcom forum, Turner revealed that in the case of the the PSN Avatars “Something’s take a long time for very little return. So they are not prioritised.” While at first it seems odd that a small Avatar can take all that time it gets even more confusing as Turner goes on about the Avatar process:
“Avatars is one of these, without sharing confidential information of our first party partners there is an extremely long process that involves localising large reams of data in 12 languages in the submissions process. There are no shortcuts and the whole process can last several months from start to finish.”
Why an avatar needs to be in 12 languages I suppose only Sony knows however there is some good news that Capcom will soon be releasing “a large batch” of avatars.
