Being a Vampire Lord Isn’t Too Cool
Those who become a Vampire Lord, the very first thing that comes to mind is, “omg cool, look at that very tall and scary looking monster“. While the looks and power the Vampire Lord possesses are indeed cool, there are a lot of disadvantages of becoming one. When you’re in a Vampire Lord state, you will have no ability to loot enemies, go through doors that have small entry and even opening chests. Pretty much, you’ll have to switch back and forth a lot of times and with the times having so many enemies at once, it will be a major hassle doing the switching. Another disadvantage that I found is that you cannot open up the map screen while on the state of being the Vampire Lord. So if these things sound like a major hassle to you, might as well stick to the Dawnguard side.
VERDICT
If you’ve been itching for a new adventure to tackle in Skyrim, the Dawnguard DLC is something that can satisfy your needs. However, expect the game-breaking glitches to be there (unless it will be fixed soon via a patch). Overall, what the DLC offers is something fans have been waiting for – a fresh new take to its story, new abilities, items and more. Even though becoming a Vampire Lord is somewhat disappointing due to its disadvantage, the content it has will be more than enough for anyone to care about in purchasing this DLC.

June 30, 2012 at 5:08 PMThe DLC is great! I’ve played most of the way through and have run into no game breakers. And being a vampire lord is amazing. There are VERY few disadvantages the only ones I’ve noticed is not being able to fit through a few doors and having a severe weakness to fire. If there is a group of enemies just kill all of them first then loot the bodies and chests after the massacre. This DLC is definitely worth getting.

June 30, 2012 at 7:05 PMDLC hasn’t had any game breaking bugs for me either. Great storyline and good new NPCs. Vamp Lord is fun to use but the werewolf perk tree is where it’s at, making the already powerful werewolf completely unstoppable.
