Despite ThatGameCompany parting ways with Sony and becoming an independent studio, due to their three game deal, it seems that their games will still be supported.
This past week, popular import retailer Play-Asia put up a listing for a so called “Journey Collector’s Edition”. Play-Asia unfortunately did not reveal anything about the collector’s edition, and did nothing more than name and list it.
A curious Twitter fan went ahead and shot ThatGameCompany, the developers of Journey a tweet asking what was going on with the mysterious collector’s edition that was listed. They replied by saying that it is real, will include Journey, flOw, and Flower. They decided to not reveal anything more than that, but it seems that Playstation is letting the cat out of the bag regardless.
In the upcoming August issue of the Playstation Official Magazine, there is an included advertisement for the collector’s edition. The ad claims that the collector’s edition will include the following:
- Journey
- flOW
- Flower
- All three original soundtracks
- “Exclusive Mini-Games” of some sort
- Documentary
- “Much more…”
- One month PS+ Trial (Credit Card likely required, FYI)
Though Play-Asia listed the collector’s edition for a August release, no official date has yet been given, nor a price. Either way, this is a great way for people who have not already experienced these three great games to do so for a likely better price, with some cool additional content.
