You may recall last month when Sony detailed the multiplayer for Resistance: Burning Skies. At that time, they also teased XP incentives for using the Near app on the Playstation Vita. Timed conveniently with today’s release of Resistance: Burning Skies, Sony has announced a viral style bonus XP idea for the game.
Using the Playstation Vita’s app Near, players will be able to pick up or drop off strains of the highly deadly Chimera virus among each other. Though long time fans of the game may be quick to recall that the virus never did any good for Hale, Sony has assured us that it is not as lethal, and instead of harm, it gives beneficial doses of XP multipliers.
It has been noted that at the very least, a player picking up a strain of the virus will receive temporary double XP, and if they’re lucky, they can get triple XP, as well. As an added bonus whether you pre-ordered the game or not, Sony will be giving all players Resistance: Burning Skies themed lock screens for their Vitas. These will be made available at this link later today for anybody who wants them. If you are still on the fence about buying the game, feel free to have a look at our review to help your decision.
