Extras on the Enhanced Edition
If you played The Witcher 2 on PC, you might decide not to play the game at all as you expect it to be same overall. Well, that’s not necessarily the case since the Enhanced Edition of The Witcher 2 is packed with new stuff. Content such as new CGI movie and added story, characters and locations are to be expected in the game. This can provide players an additional 3-4 of extended play time of the game.
NOT
Technical Visual Glitches Can Ruin Experience
Yes, the visuals in the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 might be phenomenal, but when it comes to the performance of the game, you will be slightly disappointed. First off, Xbox 360 owners should definitely install the game onto their hard drive to improve the performance and rid the frequent glitches. Let’s say that you have installed it, does that mean you’ll not see those bugs? Not really. Despite the installation of the game’s data on the hard drive, you can expect to see screen tearing, frame rate drops and pop ins. These can get annoying when you’re at a place where there’s a lot of enemies attacking you as you will see a big drop in the frame rate. The technical glitches are tolerable but can surely annoy you at times.
No New Game Plus
After finishing the Witcher 2 on the PC almost a year ago, one of the things that I always wished for was New Game+. Since the Witcher 2 is a game that is meant to be played more than once, having a New Game+ that carries over equipment items or levels would be very beneficial, especially to the ones who want to play the game on the harder difficulty to get the other endings. This is one of the things I’m not happy to see on the Enhanced Edition of The Witcher 2 on the Xbox 360.
VERDICT
The Witcher 2 on the Xbox 360 is a game RPG fans should definitely play, as it has something that other RPG games doesn’t have, like a mature story. The sword fighting and the non-linear approach of the game are sure to be appreciated by long-time RPG gamers who have been longing for this kind of game. Those who have played the game on PC will find most of the same thing in the Enhanced Edition and might not care at all about the extras, but for those who haven’t tried out this title yet, Witcher 2 is an RPG that you must play despite the technical problems.
