During their Captivate event, Capcom has announced that Street Fighter X Tekken Vita will include cross-platform play. PlayStation Vita players can take on their console brethren on the PlayStation 3 whether they’re at home or on-the-go.
Even better, the popular fighting game can be taken online using WiFi or 3G, for the Vitas with that feature included. This is a pretty big deal because, up until now, 3G Vita owners haven’t been given much of a reason to use their 3G capabilities. Many games, like Unit 13, only used the network for updating leaderboards.
Also, Capcom confirmed the inclusion of touch controls, local multiplayer and Near implementation. The Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken has not received a release date yet, but it will launch at some point later this year.
