Yesterday, Amazon leaked the (unofficial) box art and teaser trailer, just one day before Sony was planning on making their official announcement. Sony decided to roll with it and released even more information regarding their upcoming exclusive.
The PlayStation product page provided the following details:
It seems all those rumors about Kratos’ next adventure including online cooperative player, possibly with Deimos, turned out to be false… at least, for now. The game’s director Todd Papy, stated via Twitter that they will discuss the events following God of War III “soon”.

Probably the most exciting news regarding the next God of War title is the reveal of a release time frame. As you can see in the bullet-pointed details above, God of War: Ascension will be available for purchase in Spring of 2013. While it’s too early to speculate whether or not it will stick to this release window, it does seem likely given GoW III’s March 2010 release date.
