Gearbox made some big reveals at PAX this past weekend about a new character class and improved customization options in the game. The biggest reveal was the Mechromancer class, a female character that appears to be part human and machine and controls a robot known as D374-TP or Deathtrap. The character will be added as post-launch DLC for free to anyone who pre-orders the game, but those who do not pre-order can pay to get the character.
Gearbox also stated that there will be a new character customization mechanic that allows players to unlock new gear and clothing to apply to their characters as they progress through the game. They also revealed one final piece of information: a $149.99 special edition that will include things such as a Marcus bobblehead and a package that looks like a loot box from the game. Borderlands 2 is currently set for a September 18 release date on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
