Ubisoft has released a patch for the Playstation 3 version of the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta that fixes quite a bit of the issues that players have been reporting since launch. The biggest two are the tweaks to the assault class and the shotguns. Players will be happy to hear that you will no longer be able to practically snipe with the shotguns on the engineer class. Here is the full list of fixes for the beta:
Riflemen Rebalance:
-Increased minimum recoil for the ACR and AK200 to align them more closely with the other assault rifles.
-Reduced maximum assault rifle damage range, making the sniper rifle more valuable.
-Increased minimum damage of SMGS, making them more effective against all classes at further ranges.
-Dramatically reduced the radius of the heartbeat sensor.
Additional Weapon Changes:
-Reduced the dispersion to make handguns generally more effective, especially for the bomb carrier.
-Adjusted shotgun effectiveness.
Additional Equipment Changes:
-Adjusted Flash Bang Duration.
-Adjusted Flash Bulb reload time.
-Adjusted EMP air burst radius for EMPs launched by a underbarrel or standalone grenade launcher.
-Adjusted the amount of UAV’s in match.
-Increased the duration of the Sensor to make them more susceptible to countering.
Grenades power deduction
-Reduced the grenade blast kill-radius.
-Grenade fuse timer increased slightly
Matchmaking Changes
-PartySize for public matchmaking increased to 6 (was 4)
Progression System:
-Adjusted XP values for Confidence & Hack Objective.
-Doubled base XP gain to accelerate progression during the beta.
This patch was released for the Xbox 360 version of the beta last week. Those who want to preview the changes made to the beta may want to jump on it because the beta will end on Wednesday May 2. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will release May 22 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

April 30, 2012 at 8:03 PMThe shotgun range was fine for the engineer. The rest of the guns in the engineer class are terrible you cant hit anything due to short range and too much recoil.
Also the suitcase on the engineers back is huge..either remove or make smaller.

April 30, 2012 at 8:15 PMI agree they really should reduce the pack size. It makes it difficult to see what is around you when you are at an objective.

May 1, 2012 at 2:20 PMI gotta disagree about the guns on the engineer class. Just spec ur gun, [under-gassed] [fixed stock] slap a laser on it…all these thing increase Control which basically is less recoil too…i prefer the red dot or that magnified HWS (or w/e)..but thermal optic is ok. A suppressor so its not so difficult to see ur target when firing n u good to go. Applied that general idea to all class unless i run the stun gun attachment. Hell im hittin 20+ kills ez with engineer, gun is a lil weak but a headshot’s a headshot just aim high. 48-16 my best game so far w/ rifleman (don’t mean to brag..well maybe a little). All in all, im looking forward to this game.

May 1, 2012 at 2:28 PMBtw if i were to gripe about anything it’d be the UAV”s…maybe reduce the hp on them, but maybe a well placed emp would do the trick…just thought about that
