Developer Zipper Interactive posted a farewell statement on Twitter following the closure of the studio yesterday. The closure came after countless rumors of Sony’s plans to shut them down, but rumors are always hard to believe. It is shocking to see that it actually happened. The message that they posted to their fans read:
“After 17 years it’s time to head off into the sunset. A sincere thank you to all our fans for everything you’ve done for us. Farewell.”
With 17 years and quite a few games under their belt including the beloved SOCOM series, it is definitely sad to see them go. I wish their employees the best of luck and hope that they can go on to still make awesome games. What do you guys think of the closure? Feel free to leave your comments below.
