Mass Effect 3 just released earlier this week and the demand for the game is already huge. EA has revealed the game has shipped over 3.5 million copies already.
Although copies “shipped” is different from copies “sold”, this is still a good indication of the demand the game already has. EA’s John Riccitiello said that 890,000 units for the game sold in the first 24 hours it went on sale in North America alone. The game should go on to sell very well in terms of lifetime sales with numbers like that.
“We have been truly humbled by the amazing response from fans and critics for Mass Effect 3,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, Co-Founder of BioWare and General Manager of EA’s BioWare Label. “The game is a gripping, engaging experience where the decisions and choices you make will truly stay with you for the months and years ahead. We are all incredibly proud of Casey Hudson and the teams in Edmonton and Montreal for delivering the best game BioWare has ever made.”
