Ubisoft announced during GDC 2012 that Far Cry 3 will include an online multiplayer component. This was also confirmed through the game’s official Twitter which stated “we’ll have multiplayer information soon. Stay tuned.” An Ubisoft studio will be creating and “online universe” for FarCry 3 and will be “adding elements from the indie scene and social games.” Hopefully this is good news for the online portion of the game.
While no full details have been released yet as to what the multiplayer mode will contain, Ubisoft stated that we will get details soon. One can hope that Far Cry 3 will offer a better gameplay experience both single and multiplayer wise than Far Cry 2 did. Far Cry 3 is currently set for a September release date on the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
