DICE just recently announced that they have 3 new DLC packs that will be releasing this year, Close Quarters being the first one that will release in June. Fans of the game have been left wondering why the developer has not been releasing a steady stream of content for the game. DICE’s Alan Kertz has given an explanation as to why there has not been a constant flow of DLC released for their popular shooter Battlefield 3. Kertz stated:
“that we pushed hard on BF3, and lots of developers pushed vacations, parental leave and other things for a while to ship a product they could be proud about. After that was done, it takes a while to get people back into the office and up to speed” and that it’s, “better from our perspective to wait a bit on the DLC and deliver quality content with plans to deliver different types of content for different types of players over the lifetime of BF3, rather than hurry one map out.”
Its good to see that DICE doesn’t push their employees to the limits and that they don’t spew out content like the Call of Duty series tends to do. This way we get better content with more meat and potatoes and less disguised filler on a monthly basis.
