Since trophies came about, many gamers wondered if a game would contain a platinum trophy. As time went pass, the guidelines became fairly clear, although recent events have blurred the lines. Now it seems that it is a pure guessing game as to what titles will and won’t have a platinum trophy. While some gamers accept this, others think that every title should have it regardless. But is that really a good idea?
One of the first SEN exclusive platinum trophies was Battle Fantasia. Having been an Xbox 360 title with a 1,000 gamer score before, it was only logical the PS3 version would contain a platinum. However, this is perhaps one of the most bloated lists around. I use the term bloated, because there clearly is not enough content in the game. With 62 total trophies, every task was either for you to do an exact skill/combo, win X games, beat Y mode and beat the game as Z person. Sure it was a lot to do, but you can’t seriously think 11 “win the arcade with” blank trophies are well managed either.
Transversely would you WANT to do this on another game like Castle Crashers? With 28 characters to play with, sure there’s enough content to justify a platinum, although there really isn’t a need. This is the case with almost every SEN title. A lot of them have enough content to justify the platinum, although the need just isn’t there. Ironically, I would say some of the SEN titles with platinums don’t deserve them either .
Sure the idea of every game having a platinum is great, but logically there is no reason. While there are a few games like Hatsune Miku Dreamy Theater that should have one, but the vast majority don’t fall into this range. However, I do believe there should be a platinum like icon for SEN titles. This alone would distinguish missing DLC trophies from missing original trophies. With this being said, how do you feel about this? Do you wish there were more tasks just for the hell of it or are you okay with things just the way they are? Tell us in the comments section below.

People who buy games just to get trophies have serious problems.
