Since the First Edition bundle was announced for the PS Vita, the release date remained unchanged and set for a February 15th launch. Now, there may be reason to believe that it could start selling tomorrow.
The official Playstation Twitter tweeted the following:
“PS Vita First Edition Bundle launches tomorrow! Who’s an early adopter and what games are you picking up for launch day?”
This could simply be a mistake on their part, but let’s assume for a second that it’s not. It would not be too far-fetched to believe Sony would start selling the special handheld bundle a day early. Sony did give stores, such as GameStop, the green light to go ahead and sell Vita games over a week early. What would stop them from doing the same thing with the First Edition Vita bundles?
If you have the First Edition pre-ordered, then I’d give your store a call later today to see if they are allowed to sell the system one day early.

February 13, 2012 at 9:57 PMIt seems that way. People have reported receiving texts from GameStop that say pre-ordered PS Vitas can be picked up Wednesday morning. Looks like someone jumped the gun on the official Playstation Twitter.

February 14, 2012 at 11:32 AMI have received the same text message on Monday Feb 13th about picking up the system on Feb 15th, however I have also received a phone call from Gamestop on Sunday Feb 12th saying that they are doing a midnight release on Monday the 13th, or I could pick it up anytime Tuesday Feb 14th. I just have to wait untill the store opens today to call and confirm the actual pickup date.
