Earlier this morning, the PlayStation Blog posted an interview with the producer, Devin Shatsk, in regards to Konami’s upcoming Silent Hill: Downpour on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
In the interview, Devin stated that Silent Hill: Downpour will go back to its “roots”, in which the scary elements from Silent Hill 2 will be implemented in Downpour. As we all know, the recent release of Silent Hill: Homecoming was mostly pure in combat, rather than focusing on a psychological-thriller and scary atmospheric environments that fans loved from the original Silent Hill and the second game with James Sunderland.
When PSB asked which Silent Hill game can Downpour be compared to, Devin stated; ‘Definitely Silent Hill 2. Downpour has a standalone story that’s not tied to any other Silent Hill game, so it’s taking the broader concept back to its roots. Silent Hill 2 was one of the big fan favorites in the series, so we took elements that were appealing in that game and integrated them here.’
Silent Hill: Downpour is scheduled for release this March on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
