Ruffian Games, the developers behind Crackdown 2, have added a new job listing to their website.
They are currently searching for someone who is knowledgeable of and has had experience with CryEngine 3. This is what is expected in order to be added to the team under the title “senior engineer”.
The developer did say toward the end of last year that they would were hiring for “a number of as yet unannounced projects with some of the biggest publishers in the games industry.”
So, what game are they hiring for? Your guess is as good as mine. Recent internet buzz has included guesses that this title may be Crackdown 3. However, a more interesting observation is that the game in question could be TimeSplitters 4, an unannounced title expected to use CryEngine 3. The game would have been given to Ruffian to develop while Crytek UK (containing members of Timesplitter’s original developer Free Radical) watches over them to ensure the game maintains that unique flavor.
