Looks like Shigeru Miyamoto is currently working an a brand new unnamed project. In an interview with Dutch website Zoomin.tv, the father of Nintendo’s most influential franchises announced that along with the previously announced Luigi’s Mansion 2 and Pikman 3, there is a new IP in the works.
When asked about his feeling regarding coming up with new games this late in his career, Miyamoto said “This certainly makes me feel some pressure. But if you ask me, ‘Is it too much pressure to try to come out with something new?’ I have to say no, I’m enjoying myself.”
The last new IP that came from the amazing mind of Miyamoto was just over a decade ago with Pikmin. With the recent retirement scare that was quickly dismissed by Nintendo, perhaps the company is realizing that they do need some fresh material if they wish to make it in the future.
