Assassin’s Creed Revelations has received its second set of DLC to expand its multiplayer content. The Mediterranean Traveler Map Pack looks to add more depth to the online portion of the game and keep you coming back for more. But are the new maps worth the cost of admission? Or does it fall flat on its face before takeoff? Here are the Hots and Nots for the Mediterranean Traveler Map Pack.

Map Design
There are 6 maps total in the Mediterranean Traveler pack. 3 of them are new while the other 3 are classic maps from Brotherhood. The 3 new maps (Jerusalem, Imperial, Dyers) feel like they are more open and give the player more freedom than the standard maps do. The 3 classic maps (Firenze, Siena, San Donato) are what you would expect if you played the Brotherhood multiplayer.
Classic Maps Are Good
Thankfully they picked 3 good maps when selecting classic maps for this pack. Those who have played the Brotherhood multiplayer religiously will find no trouble working their way through the 3 classic maps as they have not been changed at all since the previous game. I do believe they should have made 3 more new maps instead though to keep it fresh instead of going back to old ideas.

Price
My biggest complaint about this DLC is that it will run you $10 for 6 maps. That seems like a steep price considering only 3 of the maps are original content and the other 3 were just copied and pasted from a different game. I don’t see the justification if there isn’t even something thrown in with it such as a new character. Instead you get a few new titles and emblems.
Content
While the maps definitely feel a bit more open than the standard maps, giving us 3 original maps and labeling the rest “classic” does not justify the $10 price point to get them. You get a few emblems and titles on the side but that doesn’t really carry much weight when there are no more than 10.
Conclusion
The Mediterranean Traveler Map Pack for Assassin’s Creed Revelations is priced way to steep for the content it includes. It should only be purchased by those who feel that they absolutely need 3 new maps and must revisit the classic maps. Without any extra incentive thrown in such as a new character or completely new customization options for characters, I could not recommend that any casual player purchase this content.
