Getting the Shiv from Grisvar
– Talk to Grisvar the Unlucky about the Shiv.
– Before he can give you a Shiv, he’ll ask you to get a Skooma from Duach.
– Locate Duach at the other end of the mine.
– If you have high speech skill, you can get a Skooma from him without a fight. Otherwise, you’ll have to brawl with him.
– Go back to Grisvar and get your Shiv.
Getting to Madanach
– If you have the Shiv with you, Borkul the Beast will open the door for you.
– If you have the high speech skill, he’ll give you the key to open Madanach’s cell.
– Follow the small trail that leads to Madanach.
– Speak to him and hear about his story about the Forsworn and how the Nords drove them out from Markrath.
– He’ll ask you to talk to Braig and hear his side of the story.
– Locate Braig on the eastern side of the mine.
– Talk to Braig and hear about his story.
– Go back to Madanach and he’ll now ask you to kill Grisvar the Unlucky.
– Using the Shiv you got from him earlier, kill him. Don’t worry about the other prisoner.
– Once he’s dead, go back to Madanach and he’ll you that you guys are ready to escape.
– Follow Madanach and you’ll meet all of the prisoner who are trying to escape. They’re all Forsworn Mercenaries.
– To escape the mine, simply follow Madanach and the forsworn mercenaries through the Markrath Ruins. With them in your side, you dont have to fight the Dwarven inside the ruins.
Turning Point:Now that you’ve heard both stories of Thonar Silver-Blood, Madanach, and Braig, it’s time for you to decide. If you want to side with the Nord, simply kill Madanach but beware, all of his underlings will attack you. You can wait until you get your equipment back at the end of the tunnel. However, if you want to side with the Forsworn, just follow them.
– At the end of the Markrath Ruins, they’ll give your equipment back.
– Once you’re back in the surface of Markrath, witness how the Forsworn kills Thonar and the rest of the Markrath Guards. If you help them, you’ll have a bounty on your head, however, you’ll be a friendly to the Forsworn.
If you sided with the Forsworn, you’ll receive a set of equipments from the old gods.
If you sided with the Nords, Thonar will not die and he’ll give you the Silver-Blood Family Ring, which I find useless.
