The PSP Go didn’t do very well and was abandoned quickly, making it Sony’s portable experiment failure, finally joining Nintendo’s ranks by having their very own Virtual Boy.
The experiment was downloadable games. Sony finally got it out of their system.
However, while first week sales of the system were “a figure in accordance with expectations.” according to Hiroshi Kawano, Sony of Japan’s CEO, the downloads have been apparently a huge success.
“Games and peripherals are selling extremely well. Sales of the download versions of titles are exceeding expectations.” Kawano continued.
We’re taking Sony’s (and Media Create’s) word on this one, but I for one believe it. I think people are more open to downloading games if it’s the easier of two options.
