Famistsu.com has reported that the PS Vita has sold 321,407 units in its first week on sale in Japan.
The figure gathered from Enterbrain only covers the first two days it was on sale from December 17th to 18th.
Andriasang did a comparison and the PS Vita sold less units on its first two days on sale than the Nintendo 3DS. The 3DS sold 371,326 units during the days of February 26th and 27th earlier this year. The original PSP sold 166,074 units on its first day on sale back in 2004.
If the figure is official, it’s lower than Sony expected it to be. Sony initially shipped 500,000 units of the PS Vita. Maybe sales will pick up later in the week.
The PS Vita is released everywhere else February 22nd.
