Nikkei reported today that Nintendo’s upcoming Fire Emblem on the Nintendo 3DS will be the first game to offer a paid downloadable content via Spot Pass.
According to the report, the firmware that was released several days ago is the one that enables the billing system for the upcoming DLC plans. As for the third party support, DLCs for their game (if any) will start rolling out in Summer 2012.
Japanese gamers can expect Fire Emblem 3DS to reveal sometime in Spring.
