Sankaku Complex has uploaded several map layouts from Final Fantasy XIII-2.
If you have a look at the map, you can tell that they are better and less linear than the maps seen in Final Fantasy XIII. They are certainly more complex looking and offers more alternate paths than the straight line paths in Final Fantasy XIII.
Take a look at the maps yourself below. The Final Fantasy XIII-2 maps are highlighted in light blue while the Final Fantasy XIII maps are in black. Comparing the two and you can see a HUGE difference.
