The real allure of the Assassins Creed games has always, for me, been how easily the story can go from one setting to something entirely different with ease. So far in the series we’ve toured the Holy Cities of Crusade era middle-east, renaissance Italy and more recently Constantinople. However since the very first outing of Altair and Desmond players have occupied themselves by imagining all of the unique places the franchise could visit next and now Ubisoft may well be listening to you.
A recent Ubisoft market research survey asks where you would like to see the Assassins Creed franchise head next. The option were as follows:
- The violent conflicts of the Imperial Dynasties in Medieval China
- The advent of the mighty British Empire during Victorian England
- The culmination of the Pharaoh Reign in Ancient Egypt
- The invasion of the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors
- The confrontation between British colonists and native Americans during The American Revolution
- The overthrow of the Tsar Empire by the Communists during the Russian Revolution
- The Warlord Battles in Feudal Japan
- The rise of Cesar’s Empire in Ancient Rome
In all honesty I think Ubisoft could make a fantastic Creed title out of any of these locations, but for the record Victorian England and Egypt get my vote here.
An as of yet announced Assassins Creed is expected late 2012 as part of Ubisoft’s annual releases of the franchise, so if Ubisoft were ever to truly use any of these ideas in a future title we probably wouldn’t be seeing it until 2013 at the very earliest. Come to think of it, if this confirmation that Assassins Creed 2012 wont be set in any of the above locations?
