Disadvantages…
Now that you’re a werewolf, you should know that you’re vulnerable to any Silver weapons. If you are to fight the Silver Hand bandits, it’s best to not be a werewolf as all of their weapons are made of Silver. Also, another disadvantage of being a werewolf is that you can’t rest for a while.
Transforming into a Werewolf
Now that you’re done with the mission to become a werewolf, one of the ways to transform into that scary creature is by going to your Magic tab. Scroll under Powers and select the “Beast” option.

November 11, 2011 at 12:20 PMAwesome, I am so glad that we can be werewolves in the game cause the Curse of Hircine mod was just epic and now they took the basis of that mod and made it possible to howl at the moon for real.

Werewolves were in Morrowind they just skipped Oblivion for werewolves because in their mythos werewolves have never been spotted in Cyrodil so it did make since to have them. CoH was still a great mod, and faithfully recreated the experience from Morrowind with some added features, minus the 8+ (for mid-level characters) hour story that was Bloodmoon. (the expansion from Morrowind)

That is not correct. Werewolves have been spotted in just about ALL of the provinces. If you read the literature available in the games, you’d know this. Stop spreading misinformation.
Bethesda’s reasons for not implementing werewolves into Oblivion have never been revealed.

November 12, 2011 at 4:57 PMI am a Werewolf in Skyrim, and can tell you all of this is true. Join the Companions and it won’t be long before you can become a werewolf.
The only problem I ever found is either having not enough enemies to fight or having too many. Not enough means you can’t sate the Bloodlust and will turn back to normal, having too many means your Bloodlust can extend for ages and ages. I had to use the wait function to stop (six hour wait) because I had killed and devoured so many opponents.
A werewolf cannot regenerate health normally, but instead devours corpses to extend the werewolf time and regain health. He’s almost unstoppable once he’s going and I can’t see any visible side-effects of the “human” form.
Once you’re a werewolf you get massive stamina as well, and can run faster than a horse for longer. I’ve used the wolf form to cover ground that would’ve taken at least a real hour of walking in mere minutes. (Of course, you have to stop in villages to replenish your bloodlust…)
Werewolves cannot access in the character menu, or pick up items, talk to people etc. or access the map. A nice perk though is that normal wolves won’t attack a werewolf (damn straight) and will join your side in a fight. Of course, most NPCs will attack you on sight if you blunder into their homes as a werewolf, and werewolves carry a 1000 gold bounty if discovered…

November 13, 2011 at 12:16 PMYou know the werewolf thing is awesome but that pic at the top is a troll, not a werewolf, the werewolf is more like a hunch-backed muscled wolf on two legs. That at the top is one of the trolls which for some reason is furry
TomCTSV
November 13, 2011 at 3:48 PMAnother benefit is you get 100% resist to disease in both forms!
Azmarov
November 14, 2011 at 4:14 PMFrost trolls are hairy, regular trolls have some dark hair but not much. Frost trolls in Skyrim are more akin to Yeti than the regular trolls you see. They burn real good :)
My Dunmer has already been “chosen” to be a vampire. And by chosen I mean, attacked by vampires in the mountains and turned before I could find a cure for it. I’m going to do the companion line to see if I can be both, but I doubt it’s possible.
If I make a character to become a werewolf, it’ll be a Khajiit…

November 14, 2011 at 5:55 PMYou forgot to mention a major disadvantage. While in werewolf form you can’t gain experience.
jb
November 17, 2011 at 10:03 AMVampirism is a disease. Because werewolves are immune to disease you cannot become a vampire and a werewolf.
lol
November 18, 2011 at 9:58 PMi dont think i want to be an werewolf because you get bounty for just turning into one
rayo
November 19, 2011 at 9:26 PMYou get bounty only if you are seen transforming ;).

November 24, 2011 at 6:00 AMAnyone who knows how much points you loose by being a werewolf and unable to get sleep bonuses because of it?? When I meet bears or sabre tigers, so can I just turn into a werewolf and kill them much more easier or just scare them off, so that’s great. But if the sleep bonuses are actually very useful/ can help my skills better, so will I find the cure, and find it fast too!
Pissedoffguy
November 25, 2011 at 2:47 AMHow about the fact that it takes fucking forever to transform and while you’re transforming npcs can still attack you… So unless you transform before a fight starts, you’re fucked.

December 13, 2011 at 6:55 PMcure 4 werewolves. quite easy just have to wait till u get to the later part of the quest line. not a spoil, just a hint. when kodlak asks u too kill the witches kill n take 2 of theirs heads. becomin a werewolve will effect your sleepin bonuses which comes in handy for skills. there r alot of silverhands to kill. silver weapons r light n effective against undead. n a deceit value. so ucan collect a lot of them. i dont think its worth while to b a wolfy or a vamp. been both. if u get vamp decease become a wolfy b4 u turn. otherwise go to an inn n ask the rumors option n the do the cure quest

December 16, 2011 at 5:00 PMBesides the already noted picture of a troll at the top you have a few things wrong. 1)You don’t have to complete any work for the Jarl just go into Jorrvaskr and talk to the companions. 2) The ring of Hircine is a Daedric related quest and in no way ties in with the companions. 3) They ask you to become a werewolf on the 3rd mission not at the end of the quest line. http://www.uesp.net for the win!!

January 3, 2012 at 9:23 PMdo you have to cure it or can you stay a werewolf
Phillip Price
January 3, 2012 at 10:48 PMYou can choose to stay as a werewolf. However you will not be able to get rested skill up bonuses.

March 22, 2012 at 7:44 PMHow many companion mission do you have to complete to become a Werewolf ?
Logan Hesley
March 30, 2012 at 10:26 PMwell there are some things wrong with this article.
1).The picture is a troll so get an actual picture of a werewolf
2).The title “Werewolves Powerful, but Not Unstopable.Uh heah they pretty much are.As a matter of fact the only fault there is that if you quit feeding you will turn back to your original form.I have found it much easier to kill everything in Skyrim.Dragons i had dificulty eith killing them.Problem solved i became a werewolf and knocked the shit out of any dragon i’ve faced.Werewolves are stronger than any creature. For instance if i power hit anything troll, giant, mamouth, dragon they either go flying or stumbling to the ground without breaking a sweat. So don’t listen to the people bashing werewolves.Their just mad because they chose a stupid Vampire that has many faults.Werewolves are amazing and face it.BTW another fault in being a werewolf is that you can only feed from humans not any other creature.@ Sneaky T.You said,”you can’t acces the character menu.”Well why would you need to?A werewolf ccan just run and knck the shit out of anything. You don’t need a sword, armour, bow, magic when you have a perfey fine werewolf that can do anything better than a normal character.
skyrimrox
April 30, 2012 at 3:34 PM1 downside to a were wolf is you can only feed on playable races, but they are still the best character ever.
