Uncharted: Golden Abyss has a lot of responsibilities on its back. It has the hopes and dreams of a handheld resting on its shoulder, anxiously. It has the power to yield amazing graphics never before seen on a handheld and all the responsibilities that come with great power. Uncharted: Golden Abyss’s launch may very well spell out the entire fate of the Playstation Vita.
This is the last thing it needed.
While Uncharted: Golden Abyss is shaping up to be a fantastic and well-realized game, with enough block-buster moments, cinematic scenes and gameplay variation to satisfy most, it appears that the game will require an additional memory card for those hoping to play and save additional save games.
From a cold consumer standpoint, this doesn’t seem to be a huge deal, so you only get one save point, big deal. The problem with releasing this in the public eye, however, would be revealing weakness in the Playstation Vita’s memory department, reinforcing a “too good to be true” standpoint. If additional memory cards, what else? Ram upgrades, new video cards, just to play the latest games.
That being said, Uncharted: Golden Abyss is looking to be a top-selling game and hopefully will release unhindered by the Playstation Vita’s limitations.

October 16, 2011 at 11:46 PMShuhei Yoshida stated that Uncharted: Golden Abyss would require an additional memory card for additional save data. He didn’t say it would be required just to play the game.
The memory card that will come with the Vita should have sufficient space for game saves though.
