Jens Bergensten has today revealed that Minecraft Beta 1.9 will not be out for a while yet, despite recently saying it would be out soon.
Yesturday Jens mentioned that “1.9 should be out before oct 18th, ie. next week… Not that we’ve ever missed deadlines before, right?” Today, Jens announced that in fact Mojang plan to “keep doing prereleases all the way to Minecon, so my previous tweet about 1.9 is obsolete”.
It seems fans will continue to get new content but only if they decide to install the pre-release. Do you like the pre-release version 3? Comment below.

October 11, 2011 at 10:41 AMNo, server is very unstable, so I am still using pre 2. I don’t feel this game is anywhere near or could be called a full version of a game in 1 month. Don’t get me wrong, I love it, it just needs a lot more fixes with network code and needs to manage resources better. It runs really slow on my systems that are fairly up to date and run Warcraft in ultra detail. I know its in part due to Java, but it seems to get worse with every release.
