The Hitman series has always saved the coveted “Silent Assassin” ranking for those players out there who truly take the role of Agent 47 seriously. Now, the game’s producer, Hakan Abrak, has stated that Hitman: Absolution will be featuring a “hardcore” difficulty setting which will test the skills of those elite players like never before.
Here’s what he had to say on the matter during an interview with Eurogamer:
“We will get into more details at a later point, but obviously it’s linked to the playing style. It’s more pacify your enemies, be undetected, maybe solve the challenges in a smarter way. That will probably give you a stealth assassin achievement.
We have a lot of difficulty levels in the game as well. Rest assured, the hardcore fans that like to have replayablity value in the game or want to have this stealth assassin – you know, I’m the ultimate stealth assassin – that playing style, those Achievements, are very much in the game.
There’s a huge replayability value in it and we have some features in the game I cannot speak about that will enhance this and make this easier, and heighten the replayability value for the hardcore players as well.”
He went on further to state that this hardcore mode would have a “very special name,” but he isn’t going to tell us what it is exactly just yet.
Hopefully we won’t have to wait too much longer to see how this mode will cater to the desires of long-time fans.
