Dead Island has finally been patched (version 1.01) on the PS3. The 31MB patch will be available next time you start up the game.
At the moment we aren’t exactly sure what was fixed, but if recent reports from fellow gamers are to be believed it seems that the freezing and saving issues have been fixed.
Once patch notes become available we’ll be sure to update you.
Don’t forget to read our review of the game here.

September 10, 2011 at 7:09 AMIt doesn’t solve anything, it’s worse, the game is completly broken down. If you close the game after saveing and then try to start it again suddenly 2 hours of your save game is completely gone. It has happened to me twice, first time I lost 5 levels, from 9 to 4, and now after uninstalling the game, erase savegames to start form zero after downloading the patch and now afer being completelys sure that I saw the save game icon twice just to be sure before exiting closing corretly the game and after that taking a look in my Ps3 that the save game showed the correct time of my save, once I reload 2 hours has been gone again pulling me from level 6 to 4. This is pure bullshit.
Apart from that now is impossible to connect to a frind to play coop, and at least to me it worked prior of the patch
The stutter is still there also.
I’ll not play anymore until theese problems are gone.
I’ve read many forums and other users are reporting same problems
This is a complete crap, it’s worse than blackops patches.
And sorry for my english as I’m spanish

September 10, 2011 at 10:06 AMThe problem with this patch is that it may have fixed some problems, but apparently it was created from the same stock as the PC patch. In other words, it deletes new saved game data. I created two saved games thankfully with different characters, but it deleted my newest characters progress and sent me back to the beginning. For those concerned try to avoid this patch. Deep Silver isn’t reporting anything on they’re website which says enough to know their oblivious.

September 10, 2011 at 4:36 PMI was having a freezing issue and my friend and i were and still are having sisues connecting to each other to play. yesterday and the days before it was fine, today we couldnt even connect, not once in an hour. this is horrible. i love the game but feel it was a gigantic waste of money at the moment as this game is way better playing with someone than alone.

September 10, 2011 at 6:34 PMi completely agree with Harkon, nothing has been fixed and any game you try to save is ruined, I personally never had any issues with the game until that patch was downloaded. Who the hell tested this game anyway, it’s been promoted like hell and won so many awards for it’s trailer, and yet so many issues and it hasn’t even been a week yet. i doubt there is a patch that can fix this problem, they need to rework the whole damn thing. The best advice to get something done is to call tech-support, maybe with enough complaints the will actually fix the problem instead of PATCH it up.
