By looking at the PC version of Skyrim’s box art, everyone assumed that the game will be released under the Games for Windows in which it will require having, LIVE.
For those who are worried on the dreaded DRM of Games for Windows, Bethesda revealed to PCGamer that there will be no LIVE DRM authentication when playing the game. What does that mean? Well, players who will buy it on Games for Windows LIVE marketplace will not require the player to sign into their Live account to play the damn game.
According to Pete Hines, “…it is published under the Games for Windows label, but it won’t use the Live part.”
To enjoy Skyrim this November, Bethesda also announced that Skyrim will use Steamworks in which players can expect achievements, cloud based saving, and a lot more. Check back with us near the release date for our exclusive coverage of Skyrim.
