According to a report from Andriasang, Nintendo will be holding a special 3DS related event on September 3rd. Rumors suggest it could mean that Nintendo is planning to redesign the 3DS.
Although Nintendo itself has yet to make an official announcement on the event itself, rumors have been flying that the company is preparing some shocking new announcements for the 3DS.
The 3DS didn’t sell as many units as Nintendo hoped for. This caused the company to drop the price of the system just a few weeks ago. Nintendo still wants to support the system and some redesigns could be the key to make the console profitable.
The rumored redesigns include the addition of a second analog stick and even dropping the use of 3D altogether. If that happens, Nintendo won’t be able to call it the 3DS anymore.
Hopefully Nintendo will make an official announcement on this to confirm or deny if these rumors are true or not.
