In part two of building a perfect class for your preferred playstyle we will cover the assault build type of character for those of you who like to go loud in a room full of enemies. Those of you who feel as if taking it stealthy is a waste of precious time and would rather paint the walls in the blood of your enemies, then you should take a look at this guide for an idea of how you should build a character that is tuned for destruction.
The first thing you will have to do is pick the lethal option in the opening mission. You will have the choice between the revolver for up close and personal or the assault rifle for long range firefights. The choice you make depends on your preference in weaponry. The assault rifle is the wise choice for tactical players due to it’s 20 round capacity compared to the revolver’s 5 rounds.
The very first perk you should invest in is the Dermal Armor augmentation upgrade. This will allow you to take more damage before you are taken down. Any assault player who enjoys the run and gun playstyle will want to absorb a ton of damage so they don’t have to reload a checkpoint. Look into investing in the Typhoon explosives system which allows you to activate explosives that are thrown out in a 360 degree angle around you. Perfect for when you are surrounded in the middle of a firefight. The next essential upgrades you will need are the ones that improve your aiming stability while moving and and the upgrade that helps negate recoil on your weapon. Finally put the Reflex Enhancer upgrade on for ultimate pain. This will allow you to take down two enemies at once should you be in that predicament.
Some good miscellaneous upgrades to throw on are the punch through wall, x-ray vision, and upgraded strength augmentations so you have various ways to track your enemies and start the engagements with ways that will catch your enemies off guard. Weapons wise you can use anything that works for you. Maybe you want to be a tactical player and only go loud when absolutely necessary, or you can run in with a heavy rifle and waste everything that is in your way, friendly or not. Assault players will have a wider array of weaponry at their disposal to play with since they aren’t restricted by silencers or silence. Whip out that shotgun and give the nearest enemy a shotgun facelift.
The choices are nearly unlimited with what you can do as an assault character as you are not limited by stealth and the inability to kill due to noise reasons. The choices in Deus Ex are yours alone to make. Like the previous character guide, you may choose to use these as a guideline rather than apply them word for word. That is the fun of Human Revolution: the ability to make decisions for yourself.
