The CryEngine, known for its polished and high detailed graphics in use in games such as Crysis 2, is poorly underestimated when compared to other engines such as the Unreal Engine.
CryTek’s CEO Cevat Yerli boldly claims that CryEngine is able to replicate Unreal Engine, as well as many others; though none of these engines would be able to replicate CryEngine. Yerli goes on to say “People underestimate what it means to be 100 per cent real time.”
Though some may think of Yerli’s words as arrogant these claims certainly do have evidence such as the Crysis games to back up just what astonishing graphical feats the CryEngine can accomplish. An underdog engine that is certainly gaining more recognition.
