2K Games laid all the rumors to rest today and made an official announcement for Borderlands 2 which will be heading to the Xbox 360, Playstation3 and PC. It is set for release in 2012 during 2K Games’ next financial year which begins after April. Fans of the first title can look forward to new characters, enemies, environments, skills, equipment and weapons ripe for the looting tucked away into the uncharted areas of Pandora not explored in the first game. Borderlands 2 is set for a full announcement later this month at Gamescom 2011 from August 17-21 and then will be shown again at PAX Prime which takes place August 26-28. Not much else is known about the game so hopefully we will get a trailer or some detailed information when the game gets its full announcement later on this month.
