DICE’s VP and GM Karl Magnus Troedsson revealed to Gaminglives that Battlefield 3 will only support online co-op.
This means you are unable to play Battlefield 3’s co-op modes alongside a friend using the same game console. You can only play the co-op if with a friend online.
Troedsson also mentioned DICE built the levels specifically for the co-op mode. He said gamers may recognise some environments from the single player modes, but will essentially be different.
The co-op mode will come with 6 maps that will take around 30 – 45 minutes to complete each mission.
