Todd Howard the Executive Producer for Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim has today revealed his hopes for bringing DLC to Skyrim.
Howard hopes for almost an expansion pack for Skyrim, which he nicknamed “the Rockstar model”, along the lines of the Grand Theft Auto IV Episodes which were games in their own right.
He believes that an expansion is the way to go as “For us [Bethesda], I’d like to do bigger things. Some of the bigger ones we did for Fallout 3 I thought were better”. Do you prefer plenty of small piece of DLC or one large DLC? Comment your opinions below.

July 26, 2011 at 7:06 PMThis is great news, I loved the episodes on GTA IV, they felt like a whole new game with loads of new extras, they are always worth the price. Being Elder Scrolls, they’ll probably build new map areas like in Oblivion with Shivering Isles! Roll on November 11th!

July 28, 2011 at 10:22 PMDLC in Oblivion was introduced in a way which actually damaged the game – buying a fully fledged ‘base’ for your character is pretty lame, and much less fun than earning and building one like in Morrowind.
Expansion packs are much better (just so long as they keep the construction set in some form – even if someone doesn’t want to use it to make mods, it can be a lifesaver if glitches in the game occur).
