Notch has recently revealed one way that modding will be easier when Minecraft beta 1.8 is released, which certainly points towards bigger changes in the game’s coding to allow for mods.
Notch revealed that Mojang will be changing aspects of the games coding to allow for easier modding.
One example that he has tweeted is that while “default will remain 128” for the map height, the code will only need a “single field in the Level class” for it to be changed. Notch explains that this small change will allow for “easier modding”
Mods are already an awesome part of Minecraft hopefully with more power in the modders hands even more incredible content will be created.
