With the recent announcement of a price drop on Nintendo’s newest handheld and the mention of 20 free games for those of us who bought it early, Nintendo has already taken one step in the right direction for fans who were a bit upset about the sudden slash in the 3DS’ price. All you have to do to claim these titles is log into the eShop before the price is reduced on August 12 and you will be eligible to download 10 free NES and GBA titles for free starting September 1. Nintendo has also released a statement clarifying what they meant by Ambassadors being able to download “updated versions later on in the year.
“These will be 2D games. They are not 3D Classics,” said Nintendo, before going on to reveal: “When the NES games become available to the general public later this year, they will include additional features such as multiplayer simultaneous play. Ambassadors will then be able to download those updated version at no cost.”
It is still unknown what titles will be available to download and how long they will be available for Ambassadors to download for free. But with a bunch of great classics on the eShop you can be certain that most of them will make it on that list.
