The eight iteration of Mac’s operating system, codenamed Lion, will finally go live later today via the Mac App Store.
After weeks of waiting, Mac users who have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, an i5, i7, and Xeon will be eligible for an upgrade. The Lion OS will have 250 new features including a multi gesture navigation using the trackpad, a Launch Pad, Mission Control and a lot more.
In addition to the Lion OS, a new generation of MacBook Air will be on sale starting today. The new Macbook Air is said to include a much bigger SSD, and a Thunderbolt port. The news was confirmed yesterday, during the Apple’s financial earning call. So yes, everything is legit and pretty much confirmed! No more rumors!
Lion OS will be exclusively available only via digital distribution on the Mac App Store. The retail price of Lion will be at $29.99.
