As we all know, the Nintendo 3DS will be receiving a price drop starting August 12th. While the price drop is really disappointing to the early adopters of the system, Nintendo is redeeming themselves by giving away free games.
Nintendo 3DS owners who will connect their handheld to the Nintendo 3Shop before 11:59EST on August 11 will automatically enrolled into the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador program.
Those gamers who will be in the 3DS Ambassador Program will receive free games. They will be entitled to 10 free NES Virtual Console games that will be available on September 1. Expect games such as The Legend of Zelda, Ice Climber and more. In addition, ten more Game Boy Advance Virtual console games will also be for free in which will be available at the end of 2011 – expect to get exclusive games such as Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare Inc, & Monkey vs. Donkey Kong.

July 28, 2011 at 8:41 PMA nice bonus for those who bought early. The only odd thing, is that most retailers are already selling it AT the reduced price. So those people get the perks from this program as well.
Not gonna lie. I only bought my 3ds for Zelda. And the bonus perk was being able to play Tales of the Abyss again (when it comes out). Sadly my other 2 major titles i wanted haven’t been announced yet, and/or are on the cusp of being canned altogether (Professor Layton and Megaman Legends)
