An image provided by GameGeneration has shown that the PlayStation Vita will have Skype compatibility.
The image was taken from a Sony presentation held in Sao Paulo, Brazil that clearly shows the Skype logo as one of the features of the PlayStation Vita.
The original PSP also has Skype support but questions were raised when Skype was bought by Microsoft earlier this year for $8.5 billion. This looks like Skype won’t be limited to only Microsoft products as Microsoft itself stated that it would continue to “invest in and support Skype clients on non-Microsoft platforms”.
Gamespot contacted both Sony and Microsoft for any comments but have yet to respond.
Nevertheless, the image looks legitimate and it won’t be logical if the original PSP has Skype but the PlayStation Vita doesn’t. It’s just a matter of time until Sony will make an official announcement on this.
