IO’s Kane and Lynch series hasn’t delivered on all fronts like fans had hoped, especially with the sequel’s campaign clocking in, on average, around 4 hours. IO believes that when gamers get their hands on Hitman: Absolution, they won’t see the problems from their other franchise carry over.
Hitman: Absolution has now entered the Pre-Alpha stage and the game’s lead producer, Hakan Abrak, has said “that’s a very, very important milestone – where the compelling part of your gameplay and the big questions I believe are answered.”
Now it’s about delivering an intense experience. We really believe that… We’ve got all all the features, the platforms, the memory, the performance already set – everything you’re out to achieve. We’re home free with those things. We can now soundly produce the rest of the assets.
With the issues of Kane and Lynch glaring him in the face, Abrak went on to put fans’ minds at easy by saying this:
You can definitely expect a meaty campaign. I can’t say at this point how long it is, but if you know the old instalments in the series, it’s a pretty big, comprehensive campaign we have. I think it’s safe to say this is the most ambitious, biggest project we’ve ever done in IO and we’re very, very proud of it. We’re confident we’re going to deliver quality throughout. The length of the campaign won’t be a problem, I can assure you
After getting to view the E3 demo behind closed doors, I can safely say that no one should be too worried about the game’s turnout since its shaping up to be a whole new experience that Hitman fans, new and old alike, are going to enjoy greatly.
Hitman: Absolution will release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 next year.
