PlayStation gamers around the world are rejoicing as there beloved PSN service is back online. However, it seems as though Japan is the only country left out of the celebration. According to Nikkei Japanese authorities are blocking Sony from restarting the halted service until it can provide information on what measures they have taken since the hacking incident.
Japanese authorities have met with Sony on several separate occasions to inform them what it would take to restart the service in Japan. Kazushige Nobutani, director of the Media and Content Industry department at the Ministry of Economy said that he wants Sony to show him two things.
The first thing he wants to see is preventative measures. He says “Sony was incomplete in exercising measures that they said they will do on the May 1 press conference”. The second thing he asks is how Sony hoped to regain consumer confidence over personal data being hacked.
