Minecraft Beta 1.6 has today be released bringing in a handful of new features and plenty of bug fixes.
While the list of features is small including maps, hatches, tall grass and a playable Nether in multiplayer the amount of bug fixes is amazing. There are roughly 100 bug fixes in the 1.6 update from things to sounds playing in multiplayer to game crashing events that are now fixed.
Hopefully the fixes will not only help the game to be more enjoyable but also mean a lot of the small annoyances have been removed from Minecraft.
