Anonymous have denied involvement in the PlayStation Network hacking, even after their slogan was discovered on a compromise server.
While both Sony and Anonymous have already denied the groups involvement the words “We are Legion” was found in a file planted on of the Sony Online Entertainment servers.
The group who has targeted Sony in the past released the following statement “We are trying to fight criminal activities by corporations and governments, not steal credit cards.” The group went on to say “If a legitimate and honest investigation into the credit card is conducted, Anonymous will not be found liable. While we are a distributed and decentralized group, our ‘leadership’ does not condone credit card theft.”
Of course just because the Anonymous leadership condones it, it doesn’t mean a member hasn’t done it. Either way the PSN is still down but rumour is it will be up by Friday the 6th.
