Notch has today announced on his blog that the update to Beta 1.5 for Minecraft will be “next week”.
Apparently the main aspects that the update will bring in is the weather system which was reported earlier, as well as the stats and achievement system that failed to make it into beta 1.4.
Notch explained that “Once the stats are done and the weather has been tested through, we’ll release 1.5.” he went on to say that “I’m guessing this will be next week”. Both Notch and Jeb have commented about the piston mod which has been a large talking point recently and have both stated it will not be in beta 1.5.
With beta 1.4 only out a week ago, are you happy another update is so close or would you of liked to wait for more features? Comment below.

April 11, 2011 at 1:00 PMI am all for quick updates, as it is the more features the better. More Updates Less Mods!!! I Believe that notch is doing a great job as this is his only job, I expect as much. However, that does not mean he should be pushing out features as fast as he can because that only results in buggy gameplay and stupid updates. Notch is doing exactly what I would be doing, monitering the forums and giving the people what they want in a reasonable amount of time! Good Job Notch!!!
