Nintendo has just revealed they are partnering up with Sky to bring the Nintendo 3DS Ignition event to 3D TV.
The special UK event which will take place at midnight, on the 25th of March; alongside the UK launch of the 3DS. The event will be broadcasted live in 3D on Sky 3D. The links being Sky 3D is the first 3D TV channel in Europe and the Nintendo 3DS is the first glasses free portable gaming console.
The Nintendo 3DS Ignition event will feature artists such as Plan B and Hadouken and be attended by 2,000 Club Nintendo members; Nintendo UK’s loyalty program. When Speaking about the event Nintendo UK’s Marketing Director, Dawn Paine, said:
“Nintendo 3DS Ignition is not only a games industry first but marks the arrival of portable, glasses-free 3D gaming and entertainment. The opportunity to work with Sky to broadcast the event in 3D offers the perfect synergy in terms of helping building our credentials and bringing 3D to as many people as possible.”
For those who aren’t lucky enough to have a 3D TV we will still be able to watch the live event in high definition on Sky 1 HD.
