A Job listing on microsoft-careers.com for a Program Manager seemingly reveals that Microsoft is gearing up for the Xbox 720.
The job listing doesn’t specifically say Xbox 720 but on numerous occasions it refers to future generation hardware. Here are three different parts taken from the same job listing that all massively point towards the Xbox 720 becoming a reality soon:
“IEB Studios is looking for a seasoned Principal Program Manager to build a sustainable prototyping program for core gaming experiences on future generation hardware, software, and service platforms.”
“Ensure the prototyping program is funded and executed properly to validate technical direction and drive product differentiation in future platforms.”
“Build excitement for the next gen core strategy and status to all stakeholders, highlight progress toward goals and manage significant risks and roadblocks.”
Some very heavy hints about a possible future console, will Microsoft announce the Xbox 720 at E3 or will the next generation on consoles be still a little while off? Comment your opinion below.

March 26, 2011 at 5:54 PMWow, why so offended? They are speculating dude. They aren’t putting anything into any ones mouth. Microsoft isn’t doing as well as you might think. “The Xbox 720 doesn’t seem like it’s too far from the future considering Xbox 360 is on a decline in terms of new IPs and content overall. Microsoft will likely have to reinvent themselves if they want to retain the pop culture success of Xbox 360.” -http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=126447-
Don’t start blowing and insulting people just because you know a few things.
The company needs to do something if that means “reinventing” themselves then they will do it. Despite what they said in the past. PS3 is far better graphic wise and feature wise. Now I know that can be argued but its coming from someone who is a huge 360 fan.
Also did you not read ” “IEB Studios is looking for a seasoned Principal Program Manager to build a sustainable prototyping program for core gaming experiences on future generation hardware, software, and service platforms.”
“Ensure the prototyping program is funded and executed properly to validate technical direction and drive product differentiation in future platforms.”
“Build excitement for the next gen core strategy and status to all stakeholders, highlight progress toward goals and manage significant risks and roadblocks.””
Dude did you notice the part that said “on future generation hardware..”
That means new XBOX. Unless they plan on making new hardware that we have to install ourselves. If that was the case I would just go build my self a new computer…

March 27, 2011 at 12:27 PMDude… Joe… Did someone shit in your cereal again? I’M GOING TO KEEP CAPS ON BECAUSE I CAN RAWWRGHGAHHGH! Seriously, dude, knock that stupid fanboy crap off. They might have at first wanted to give it a 10 year run – but could’ve changed their minds about it and decided, “hey, now might be a good time to pump out something new.”
Microsoft likes the money, and the money goes to who’s first and/or most original.

“PS3 is far better graphic wise and feature wise.” I will give you feature-wise, but not graphic wise. The Xbox GPU is faster, which is always the main bottleneck in any setup. I don’t know if you look at benchmarks and those competitions where people build the best systems they can at a reasonable price range, but they always stack the GPU and skimp on everything else. Because they know the CPU is hardly utilized anymore compared to the GPU.
Secondly, the XBox CPU is also faster, lol, google “Instructions Per Second” and check out the Wikipedia page. The MS Tri-Core practically doubles the PS3.
So, the Xbox is faster all around, and the few missing ‘features’ (like an incomplete/crappy web browser), don’t bother me. That’s what my iPad is for.
Keep the fanboi schlub to yourself. You had a good post until you went off-topic and tried to justify your love for the PS3.

For your information: Yes, I have played Gran Tourismo on the PS3 and the cars look amazing. But, the environment looks like something out of an N64 game. The stadiums look like crap and the roads don’t even have dynamic shadows/lightmaps. You can always go heavy in one area, but then you have to skimp on the others. It’s called a trade-off, and it happens in every scenario of life.
Fact of the matter is that all the major cross-platform games run better on the Xbox. They look identical, but always havea a higher framerate on the XBox. It’s just a more powerful machine.
And Lastly, we are *all* screwed now that HD-DVD died and Blu-Ray won the war. Now we get to pay royalties to some already massive super-corporation every time we buy a new movie. Great!
