Sony has been denied permission to subpoena Google, Youtube, Twitter, SlashDot, Paypal and many others. A subpoena is a writ enforcing a court appearance to give testimony. As I’m sure you are well aware, Sony are trying their hardest to take legal action against those who cracked open the PS3, however the main problem is they don’t know who to charge and where to find them . If permission for the subpoena had been granted, the sites mentioned above would have had to share information such as the location and names of these hackers, making it much easier for Sony to attempt to take legal action against these individuals.
